Attended by more than 100 people, this meeting was organised to compare and contrast the historical development, current situation, and prospective future evolution of the principal regional organisations in Europe and East Asia, namely the EU, ASEAN, ASEAN+3, and ARF.
The meeting was held over three sessions. The first session covered the historical backgrounds of Asia and Europe, while the second session featured invited speakers who discussed the challenges of regional integration. At the third and concluding session, participants projected the future direction of the regional organisations.
